Catalis a UK-headquartered global video game and entertainment group focused on the provision of technical and creative services to the entertainment industry and the publishing of indie games.

 

We are comprised of two divisions: Services and Publishing

 

Services

Our Services division is comprised of three distinct companies: Testronic, Giant Worldwide and Secret 6.

Testronic: A world-leading Quality Assurance and Localisation company that provides award-winning services to the video game industry. Testronic has operations in the UK, USA, Poland, Romania, Serbia and Portugal. With over 1,900 technicians, Testronic is a trusted partner for some of the world’s largest games publishers.

Giant Worldwide: A fast-growing organization now comprising 250 employees with locations in Los Angeles, New York, London, Warsaw, and Bucharest. Giant service offering includes Platform Delivery Services, Master QC, Streaming App/Software Performance, Physical Disc Authoring and QC, and newly launched Subtitle Localization.

Secret 6: A leader in video game co-development, QA and 3D art production for console, PC, mobile and VR gaming platforms. For over 15 years, the company has built a reputation among some of the world’s top game development studios as a trusted and dependable outsourced production partner for their critically and commercially acclaimed AAA titles. Secret 6 has locations in San Francisco, Manila and Madrid.

Publishing

Our Publishing division is made up of Curve Games, an ambitious, fast-growing publisher and developer.

Founded in 2013, Curve Games is an award-winning independent publisher. They work with the best talent from all over the world to curate, shape and amplify ‘Triple I’ games. Curve are pioneers of developer-focused publishing, with their games played by millions of players around the world.

To date, Curve has published dozens of titles, including critically acclaimed hits The Ascent, Flame in the Flood, For The King, Bomber Crew and the chart-topping Human: Fall Flat.

In 2019, Curve acquired the indie studio, Runner Duck Games, who continue to develop the 'Crew' franchise from their offices in Brighton. In 2020, Curve brought IronOak Games into the Curve family, who continue to develop the 'For The King' franchise from their offices in Vancouver, Canada.

Curve operates out of Islington (London) with a sales and marketing office in San Francisco (USA).

In 2022, Curve won the 'Publishing Star' award at the Develop:Star Awards in Brighton.

  • Nigel Hammond

    Nigel Hammond's private equity experience covers more than two decades and has involved investing in companies across Europe. From 1990 to 1995 he worked for 3i, from 1995 to 2006 for Montagu Private Equity and co-founded Vespa Capital with Denis Leroy in 2007.

    Nigel has been a Board Member since June 2014.

  • Nicola McQuaid

    Nicola joined NorthEdge in 2016 with over 10 years’ experience in M&A. She spent three years at JLA where she was part of a PE backed management team and led on acquisitions. Nicola was an Assistant Director in PwC Corporate Finance before joining JLA and has advised on a variety of deals, including buyouts, acquisitions and disposals across a range of sectors.

  • Peter Opperman

    Peter is the non-executive chairman at Catalis. He has been chairing private equity investments for the last twenty years. Peter also sits on the boards of O’Neill Patient and Zenergi.

  • Dominic Wheatley

    Dominic Wheatley was founder and CEO of Eidos (originally Domark) and launched Tomb Raider at E3 in Los Angeles in 1996. He has served on the boards of Telecom Plus Plc and Statpro Plc and others.

    Dominic served as CEO of the Catalis Group from 2012 and moved to a role as Non-Executive Director in 2023.
