Why Early Access?

“We want to invite you into our world, a place where you can grow all kinds of wild and wonderful things. Southfield is already alive and thriving, ready to welcome new inhabitants (you) to the Island. Just like our chaotic crops, what we grow in Early Access may not always be predictable, but that’s exactly why we’re excited! Your feedback is an essential part of our development process. We want you to be part of this journey, and to see your contributions help the Island flourish.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan for Southfield to be in Early Access until Summer 2024. Once we’ve confirmed and locked in our post-launch plans, we plan to share our development roadmap. Be sure to join our community Discord server and follow our social channels for any updates.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We expect Southfield to grow significantly throughout the Early Access period, with additional gameplay mechanics, new biomes to explore, crops to grow, customisations to enjoy, quests to complete, as well as further optimisations and quality of life improvements. We can’t say for sure exactly what Southfield will look like come the end of Early Access, but it will be a reflection of how you play, what you enjoy, and what Southfield means to you.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Jumping into Southfield during Early Access, you have everything you need to start your very own farm, with 40+ crops to grow, machines to automate, and various materials to build with. Meet the locals, complete quests, check out the weird wildlife, and explore the world of Southfield - a world that’s growing fast!

Southfield in Early Access is the foundation of something bigger, and while we’re working hard to offer fun straight out of the gate, there’s going to be hiccups along the way. Your support will help us iron out the bugs, perfect the features, and deliver a game that keeps on giving.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“As we work towards our 1.0 release, we expect the price of Southfield will gradually increase alongside the features and content we intend to add.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Southfield is an ever-changing Island, and we want to make sure it evolves to become your Island. We’ve got plenty of ideas (and we plan to share our roadmap!), but we’re eager to hear your thoughts too. In Early Access, we’ll be listening closely to what you have to say, what you love, and what you feel needs improving. We’re excited to see what you make of our Island, and we’re keen to help you feel right at home here.
