Why Early Access?

“We’re launching in Steam Early Access because we want to complete our game in open dialogue with our community. Steam users have been instrumental to our development process so far, and we’re eager to hear what you think! Join our Discord and/or use our in-game feedback features to help us make RoboCo everything you want it to be.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We hope to be in Early Access for about a year while we gather user feedback, iterate on existing features, and continue development of new features.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In 1.0, RoboCo will have new parts, additional challenges, Steam Achievements, assorted usability improvements, and the ability to give commands to human NPCs! We’ll also have VR up and running as well as some other unannounced features at that time, so 1.0 will provide a ton of exciting new content for players.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“All of the features listed in the "About This Game" section are currently implemented, so please refer to that section for a full list of game details. In terms of our development phase, we are in Beta, which means that the game is still a work in progress. While there might be some minor issues here and there, the game campaign is fully playable and we’ve applied a lot of polish throughout, so we have a really strong foundation for all the additional features we want to add before 1.0. Localization is also a work-in-progress, so there may be some issues with translations here and there. If you encounter any bugs or weirdness during Early Access, please hop in our Discord and let us know!”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We do not anticipate any price changes at this time.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“There are many ways to get involved with the RoboCo community. We strongly encourage everyone to join our Discord, where you can interact directly with developers and participate in community contests and robot build-offs for glory and prestige. The Steam Workshop sharing feature also lets players share their robot masterpieces and browse others’ robot creations for inspiration and remixing.”
